Magda Wegrzyn – Short

Magda Wegrzyn (1986) is a Polish born visual artist. Magda currently is a visiting DFA researcher at the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki and DFA researcher at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun. Magda’s work addresses connections between visual perception, technology, and communication – calling upon a tangible contact during processes of interaction. Magda also tests Shannon & Weaver’s Mathematical Theory of Communication possible use to art research.

 

Magda was honoured several fellowships (CIMO Fellowship; Scholarship of The President of Torun; Pomeranian Voivodeship Artistic Scholarship) and has participated in various solo and group exhibitions in Poland and Italy since 2010. She has published in a range of magazines for example in Musli Magazine, Poland Art, Artinfo, Gazeta Torun, TV Torun, MMTorun, ArtInfo, O.pl, eSanok, and TV Sanok.

 

For the series Magda will issue an OPEN CALL to participate in the CARBON COPY project inviting people to interpret some of her paintings through a form of a material object at secondhome projects in March.
