Jaana Kokko – Short
Jaana Kokko is an artist and a PhD student the Art Department of Aalto University, University of Art, Design and Architecture in Helsinki. In her work Jaana explores expressive and historical aspects of art, emphasizing the importance to understand and be aware of the fact that a finished piece of art and the act of displaying it publicly are political comments.
In “Contemporary Art as A Form of Worldalization - Approaches to Understanding Political and Social Dynamics” Jaana Kokko suggests ways explore forms of critical art, borrowing from Hannah Arendt's concept to "worldalize", i. e. to take part in the world as a political being. During the series Jaana Kokko will present videos, photographs, and texts according to her latest practice.
